The 1701 Group’s annual Clothes for Kids shopping events are underway at local Target, Walmart, and JC Penney stores. This year we will clothe over 3,000 elementary students at 30 shopping events. The students are selected by their school counselors. The students get new clothing to encourage them to go to school.
We also help the elementary and secondary school counselors by paying for shopping for clothing and supplies for their emergency closets. It’s important to be able to meet immediate needs so students can get back to class ASAP.
We believe in the value of a good education, and we also support local teachers with awards for class projects.
