The 1701 Group, formerly Assistance League of Reno-Sparks, is an all-volunteer 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization devoted to helping those in need in our community by serving students, seniors, and veterans. For almost 50 years, we’ve been hard at work growing into a thriving organization with almost 400 members and11 philanthropic programs that directly benefit from your donations, community grants and proceeds from Thrift & Gift on Vassar.

We’re a hard-working group of men and women who care about giving back to the people who need it the most in our community.

Thrift and Gift on Vassar

Thrift & Gift on Vassar is our primary source of funding for our philanthropic programs.  We are proud of our reputation as the best and friendliest thrift shop in Reno. Our next online auction will be October 31 and November 1 and 2  at estatesales.org with an after-auction sale November 5 from 10am to 1pm.

Children Need Your Support

This year, more than ever, children in our community needed our support. A growing number of families in our area were unable to afford suitable clothing, toiletries, and computers. We appreciate your continued generosity. Donate here.

Senior Sampler

The Senior Sampler program affords community senior crafters, 60 years of age and over, with a venue in which their handcrafted items are displayed and sold.  100% of proceeds are returned to the senior crafter. The Senior Sampler is located inside Thrift & Gift on Vassar.
