The 1701 Group, formerly Assistance League of Reno-Sparks, is an all-volunteer 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization devoted to helping those in need in our community by serving students, seniors, and veterans. For almost 50 years, we’ve been hard at work growing into a thriving organization with almost 400 members and 11 philanthropic programs that directly benefit from your donations, community grants and proceeds from Thrift & Gift on Vassar.

Once again, The 1701 Group will be shopping in September, October and November 2026 for over 3,000 elementary students at 30 shopping events at local JC Penneys, Target and Walmart stores.
