The 1701 Group, formerly Assistance League of Reno-Sparks, is an all-volunteer 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization devoted to helping those in need in our community by serving students, seniors, and veterans. For almost 50 years, we’ve been hard at work growing into a thriving organization with almost 400 members and11 philanthropic programs that directly benefit from your donations, community grants and proceeds from Thrift & Gift on Vassar.
We’re a hard-working group of men and women who care about giving back to the people who need it the most in our community.

Our Links to Learning Committee has been busy giving money to teachers and school libraries. Teachers can apply for $500 awards for classroom projects. Our Clothes for Kids shopping trips have started! We’re clothing 3,000 local elementary students, chosen by their school counselors, at local Target and Walmart stores. Every month the Veterans at the VA’s Community Living Center pick one Veteran who we can honor with presents and a big party.
