Hours are Tuesday – Saturday from 10am to 4pm.

Donations are taken from 10am to 3pm Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday only.

Limit 10 bags or boxes per donor vehicle
For the safety of our volunteers, all bags and boxes must weigh 25 pounds or less
Large donations by appointment only

Policies

Inclement Weather Policy – In the case of inclement weather please call our main number–775-329-1584–for notice of delays or closure of Thrift & Gift on Vassar.

We accept Visa and MasterCard credit/debit cards for all purchases.

We have a “NO RETURN” policy on all items purchased.

Check the white board behind the register for current sales.

Auctions

We host online auctions of our best merchandise four times a year at EstateSales.org. Type in our zip code – 89502. Look for “Best of Reno”. In addition, you can browse our 24/7 auction items at EstateSales.org.

Thrift & Gift on Vassar is the main source of funding for our eleven philanthropic programs. It is staffed and managed entirely by our member-volunteers. We are proud of our reputation as one of the best and friendliest thrift shops in the Reno-Sparks area. Our members work hard to make sure the merchandise is always of good quality, clean, and priced fairly. Come see for yourself!

We offer quality merchandise, including a selection of antiques and collectibles, men’s, women’s, and children’s apparel and shoes, books for every age, baby clothes and accessories, sporting goods, toys, housewares, linens, home decor, seasonal items, and jewelry — all at affordable prices. Our “Boutique” racks contain better clothing lines, some never even worn.

Our community shows how much it loves Thrift & Gift on Vassar by voting it as the best! In 2025, we were proud to receive the Best awards from The Reno Gazelle Journal’s contest and the Best of Sierra Nevada contest. Thanks so much for voting for us and showing your support.

Donations

Your donations are always appreciated! Donations are tax-deductible; a receipt will be provided.

Please bring your “gently used” items to the receiving door located at the rear of Thrift & Gift on Vassar. Ring the doorbell, wait, and we will assist you in dropping off your items.

For safety reasons, donations are accepted only during business hours. Please, do NOT leave items outside when we are closed as they will be damaged by the weather. Unfortunately, we do not have a pick-up service.

DONATION GUIDELINES

Thrift & Gift on Vassar gladly accepts new or gently used clothing and merchandise, including furniture. However, please contact Thrift & Gift on Vassar if you would like to donate larger items at 775-329-6658.
